Q'ente Textile Revitalization Society:
www.qentesociety.com
The Q'ente Textile Revitalization Society is an incorporated British Columbia not-for-profit
society, which informally began in 2006. They work directly with weavers of the Sacred Valley
region of Peru by providing an outlet to sell textiles in North America. The aim of this project
is to establish sustainability in the Sacred Valley region through the textile tradition, which
is an integral part of the Quechua culture, history, and economy.
Casa Ecologica:
www.casaecologicacusco.com
This is a Peruvian organization located in Cusco whose aim is to "expand knowledge about this place
also know as the center of the Mother Earth or its navel." It does this through sales of ecological
products as well as the establishment of local projects that directly help indigenous communities.
This organization is one of the community projects that we are working with through The Q'ente Textile Revitalization Society.
Awamaki:
Awamaki is a small NGO based in Ollantaytambo, Cusco, Peru. They run a
weaving project in the indigenous Quechua community of Patacancha, located
in the mountains high above Ollantaytambo. For more information about Awamaki
and their projects visit www.awamaki.org
Serenity Transformational Tours:
www.transformationaltours.com
This tour group is based out of Galiano Island, BC and provides transformational tours
to Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. Through their tours they aim to help people
"gain an expanded awareness of themselves and their ability to have a positive influence
in the world around them." Serenity has provided great support - financially and
energetically - to the SVYF by offering this project as an outlet through which their travellers can give.
We are hoping to establish a long-term connection of support with this group.
Education Generation:
Is a community providing access to education for students around the globe. They
use technology to bridge the gap between donors and hardworking students in need.
Currently they have pledged to sponsor a portion of Mosqoy student's tuition for
the next three years. For more information about their exciting projects visit
